Right now, legislators in Washington are considering bills that could fundamentally upend our app ecosystem, just as their European counterparts are doing in Brussels. These bills hurt developers by limiting personalized advertising, eliminating features like single-sign on and maps integration in search, and forcing third-party payment systems onto app platforms while shifting liability for data security on devs. Without input from the app developers who will be most affected by policy changes, legislators risk damaging the global business model that developers helped build.
